Our mission is to establish meaningful relationships between people and the digital products we create, through the use of research-based User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI) design standards and methodologies, intelligent information architecture, and the configuration, collection, and study of user data and analytics.
In a digital world, we value people, and the creation of interactive products is only the beginning of our relationship. Our existing work is constantly morphing and changing. The life of a website or application is a cyclical process of continual improvement in design, usability, performance, technology, and functionality.
We work hard to stay on top of the latest trends, and we’re pleased to offer fresh, creative solutions to improve our clients everyday. We believe that the role of technology is to simplify the lives of our clients and their customers. When you choose us, you’re getting not only a product, but also a lasting relationship that will improve your business.
We’re pleased to offer consulting, management, and production services in all areas of custom interactive strategy, design, and development.
Information Architecture (IA) focuses on organizing, structuring, and labeling content in an effective and sustainable manner. The goal is to help users find information and complete tasks. We may rely on previous analytics to indicate architectural changes. We will build the navigation system and provide content evaluations where necessary.
Key deliverables in this stage may include a site map, content edits, and user flow documentation. We will also discuss project planning, development, and platform recommendations.
User Experience (UX) refers to a user's emotions and attitudes about using a particular product, system or service. It includes the practical, experiential, affective, meaningful and valuable aspects of human–computer interaction and product ownership.
In the UX phase, it is important to simplify and streamline human-computer interaction as much as possible, which allows users to accomplish their goals quickly and easily.
In this stage, we may build low fidelity and/or high fidelity, fully interactive prototypes. These are "blueprints" for the website or application, and may be used to test Information Architecture and User Experience design in the user testing phase.
User testing allows us to measure the usability, UX, IA, and overall success of our prototypes on potential users. User testing may be conducted at any point in the development process, but often happens prior to the UI design phase. We will create personas for key demographics of your potential client base, match actual users to the personas, and test their tendencies when using the prototype and/or product. Personas may relate to age, language, gender, background, and/or experience level.
Standardized test scripts will outline important scenarios that relate to key functions of the product, and the expected user paths that would successfully complete these scenarios. Following the standardized tests, the results will be analyzed and compared. This process may indicate changes to the IA or UX. Following any necessary adjustments, additional testing may be required.
In this stage, we design the look and feel of the product's User Interface (UI). This includes colours, typography, grid layouts, graphics, navigation and interaction elements, and iconography.
We adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 to ensure your product is accessible by a wide range of people with disabilities, including blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, learning disabilities, cognitive limitations, limited movement, speech disabilities, and photosensitivity.
Key deliverables in this stage include layered design files, flattened mockups, and style guidelines.
Interaction Design (IXD) is the culmination of the IA, UX, and UI processes. In this phase, we will address motion design, and create the structure and behaviour of the interactive experiences which supplement the previous designs.
Key deliverables may include animated prototypes and/or videos which outline motion design.
Development and coding that fulfills the IXD must be lightweight to provide for fast load times on all devices and browsers. This means completely custom builds, regardless of platform. We provide extensive development services internally, and also work closely with a roster of specialized developers when necessary.
All of our products are built to allow clients to easily manage their content from any device.
Everything we do is rooted in user analytics. Your analytics provide valuable information about your clients and users, and we want to leverage that data to improve your products. As Google Analytics-certified professionals, we can set up filtering and data views specific to your business needs, and also create goals and conversions to measure the success of your portfolio.
Analytics should be the center of all your marketing, and as such, we will help you dissect your data to provide insight into your marketing budget allocation, and compare your campaigns and their respective returns.
We are constantly analyzing your users to provide feedback on improving your marketing, and the usability and effectiveness of your products.
Scott Benson has an incredibly rare gift of being able to effortlessly find the balance between the hard edges of technical requirements with the softer side of design and user experience. His clean and elegant design are both beautiful and functional. A rare gift indeed in the world of web.
